TITLE:  Plunger Skateboard Relay
CATEGORY:  Action, for 16 or more players, aged jr. high & up
MATERIALS:  4 skateboards, 4 (clean) plungers

This game materialized after one day we were sitting around thinking, "It'd be really funny if we had people sit on skateboards and row themselves using plungers.  Hey, let's make a relay out of that!"

Divide the group into four teams, and have them line up behind a starting line.  Give each team a skateboard and a toilet plunger.  The first person in each line sits on the skateboard, and touching the floor with nothing but the toilet plunger, propels themselves across the floor to a cone or finish line.  They then turn around, plunger themselves back to their team, and then hand off the skateboard and plunger to the next person.  First team to get all their members across and back wins!

TIPS:
-This works best on a smooth surface, like linoleum floor or polished concrete.  You need a surface that the plungers will 'suction' to.  Make sure it's ok with your building to have skateboards on that surface if you're doing this indoors.
-Ask around to borrow skateboards from people.
-The easiest way to get CLEAN plungers is to check your 99c store.  They don't have to be professional quality.  Just good enough to push a skateboard!  We bought four, and then just keep them around for anytime we do this game.  (Don't even think about playing this with used plungers.  That's just gross.)
-Adapt this as you would any other relay, you can have two teams or ten depending on the size of your group.  Don't make the team sizes too big though.  Getting across the floor takes a lot longer than you would think, especially with having to balance yourself on the skateboard while rowing.
-Bring a video camera, because lots of laughs will ensue.  No matter how coordinated or athletic a person is, NO ONE is good at this game.
